A void had opened across the line between the book and his thoughts. Never so scrutinized, the paper seemed to fold itself before him as his eyes neatly scanned through the surface and just captured every single trace the words had left behind. If so for a second, this was his ability, and it had been learnt throughout his studies at Draconifors. Why was he so stubborn about dragons? Does something within them seem to fill him as any other subject could? Time reflected itself in the course in which glints of sunlight with beams bathed the atmosphere, ever so lightly clung to the flapping surface it was even harder to distinguish when the golden grass ended and when the water began. The shore was so wide and yet so reduced it was part of his mentality just to linger there, as though anything else was worthwhile of his attention but the sole rustle of the bushes and the delicate trace the wind left in a subtle caress to the grounds.
Enticed by the light, it was as though the breath of a dragon was blowing on him. Despite of what other might consider creepy and insignificant, those flames could retrieve the sense of life he had somehow lost with the passage of time. As he let his fingers tapped the surface of the book, he could feel a brunt of inspiration, but let it go as soon as it had showed up, since the merely significance of it would just be diminished to nothingness. Never let himself be guided by intuition or his clumsy senses, as everything was deceiving. Just the only touch of lust could rule upon every other wish. It was due the ranting about it that it figured to be an extremely interesting subject. Whenever it came to his mind the idea of the veins engulfed by desire and the sole possession of the flesh need, it just turned out to be dire amongst the rest. Vex could envision the insanity of a life like those, the preaching of those who had escaped such a fortune and embraced the mortality before succumbing to the lowest instincts of lewd. He grounded the paper inside his grip, as though it’d suffice to contain himself the enough. Nevertheless, as his eyes turned into a bright Scarlett that gradually decayed into a pure golden glow unveiling the secrecy of a dragon’s glance, he paced the level to a down-going path, so the rhythm of his heart stopped and retrieved the normality of its gait.
Quietly, he recalled each moment he had shared with them, passion, deceit, arrogance and despair, all together in one simple sentence, as the word shaped itself inside his thoughts: abandonment. His father had forgone him, just as something that’s meant to wither with time and just vanish through the track of hours and days, defying the laws of nature while decomposing without reason or sense. That was him, but he was already rotten, since the very first moment love had been denied to him from his own progenitor.
Nathaniel twisted his wrist to the movement of the book, so its content was leafed through and then halted immediately. Needn’t to glance through the pages to find out what had happened. Extinction had come to meet him, for the moment he had rested his mind in lewd ideas. Certainly, those who knew him that well would ascertain he was just in a transition, passing to become the predator some would fear out of recognition. The German pulled out his hand and let the book fell on his lap. His back was leant against the bark of the tree behind him, feeling the deformed cork piercing through the muscles, though it was impossible to break them, thanks to the extensive hours in training for them. Within cold, the temperature didn’t allow to do much but to just work out in order to keep warmth with you, so his whole figure was chiselled, from head to toes he could be said to be sculpted by the very gods, though that would be a blasphemy for sure. The tie knotting his neck was not as tight as he figured it might be, but it still could strangle him without the notion of it. He leaked his finger through the knot and gave it a little push, making it loose so he could unbutton it so the pressure wasn’t that suppressing. Just then, he could breathe slowly and calmly and even felt how the injected red in his pupils was getting back to the bluish penetrating sight some couldn’t be able to stare at. The Lake was quiet, yet unsettling, if he focused his gaze at the reflection of the sun, such illumination couldn’t permit him concentrate himself on the lecture.
